BioArt project running was started at the kick off meeting at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain on Feb.,6-7, 2018.
PSTU was represented by Prof. Oleksandr Azarkhov, Head of the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, BioArt project coordinator and Oleksandr Cheiliakh, Vice-Rector, Head of BioArt project Work Group.
The first day of the event was dedicated to current situation in target field. At a seminar of the kick-off meeting each Partner introduced SWOT analyze on current status of curricular at Partner Universities and Partners countries. The analyze reports includes the information of the lack of educational skills in target area as well.
Prof. Oleksandr Azarkhov made the presentation of PSTU and Donetsk region, underlining the acute shortage of specialists in prosthetics and bioimplant application in Mariupol. The graduates of the specialty “Biomedical Engineering” are potentially in demand in the city. It is especially emphasized because of sufficiently large contingent of medical personnel (more than 10 thousand positions only in the public sector and mobile military hospital, serving the South-East sector of the Donetsk region, which situated in Mariupol), which requires constant renewal.
During the kick-off meeting, Partners approved an Agreement on common new curricular implementation and designed guidelines on instructional strategies for “BioArt” curricular development, based on SWOT analysis of the Biomedical Engineering curricular in PCs.
For day two Partners developed Guideline for BioArt Agreement, which include:
- Work Packages and Management Structures
- Individual Role of the Partners
- Budget (including procurement plan)
- Working Methodology / Reporting
- Dissemination
- Partnership agreements and project registration
- in partner countries
- Related existing curricula in Israel
- Related existing curricula in Ukraine
After the kick-off meeting Project countries Partners will develop innovative curricular and transfer them to Ukrainian / Israel Universities for implementation in study process.
