BioArt Coordination Meeting at Sami Shamoon College of Engineering, Ashdod, Israel 2020/02/26

During the period of 3.11.19-6.11.19, Sami Shamoon College of Engineering, (SCE https://en.sce.ac.il )SCE hosted a yearly BIOART meeting. The Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering Oleksandr Azarkhov and the Head of the International Projects Department Kateryna participated in the event. The main activities were related to the exchange of experience and methodological developments between the project participants.
During BioArt meeting at Sami Shamoon College of Engineering main topics of BioArt implementations were covered.
1. Student contest.
Conception of the student contest procedure were approved by consortium. In this section the most important results and action items were included:
- Local student contests are totally independent. Call for international student contest will be issued after the local student contests (depending on institution but latest April 2020).
- Mentoring also will be provided.
2. Visit of Laboratories at SCE.
BioArt teachers visited different teaching and research labs in the fields of chemical, mechanical and electrical engineering and use of the equipment bought by SCE have been demonstrated and inspected.
3. Matchmaking session.
Various researchers and teachers from the project and SCE presented their activities in a “3-minutes” match making format with a concluding networking session. This activity was set to increase the sustainability of the project by the further enhancing cooperation.
4. Management session
During this meeting the progress in the program’s implementation were presented. The participants will also use this platform to make contacts with SCE researchers, and to see several final year projects related to the fields developed in the BIOART program. The meeting also includes management planning (financials, reports, project extensions, procurement, pilot teaching) and solving issues raised during development.
