Round Table «Modern Challenges in Higher Education at Transport Services Field» 2019/10/25

On October 22, 2019, the Faculty of Transport Technologies of the Priazovskyi State Technical University, Маriupol, Ukraine conducted a Round Table «Modern Challenges in Higher Education at Transport Services Field» in the framework of the i ERASMUS + K2 project “Crises and Risk-Engineering in Transport: 598218-EPP-1-2018-1-PL -EPPKA2-CBHE-JP ”. The participants and experts of the Round Table were representatives of leading transport and logistics companies of local, regional and international level: PJSC AZOVSTAL IRON & STEEL WORKS (METINVEST GROUP), LLC “Nova Poshta”, State Enterprise “Mariupol Commercial Sea Port”, the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk Region, Central Police Department of the National Police in Donetsk region, Department of Transport and Communications of the Mariupol City Council.
The main purpose of the Round Table was to discuss the trends of labor market needs in the modern transport industry and the need for immediate adaptation of the educational process in higher education to the needs of employers, taking into account innovative European educational best practices.
During the event the main objectives of the ERASMUS + K2 project in terms of upgrading higher education were introduced to CRENG stakeholders. PSTU teachers demonstrated innovative methodologies for implementing European experience in the educational process obtained at the Berlin Technical University and the synergistic effect of CRENG and TRACECA projects.
The “Skills Wallet” was presented to employers as a portfolio of the future specialist and innovative tool for successful employment. The summary of the Round Table was a survey of employers, and creation of the quality control and quality assurance PSTU group for CRENG, which will involve leading employers as well.
